About Wendy

Wendy Biro-Pollard is a Certified Volunteer Administrator and BoardSource Certified Governance Consultant. She has conducted webinars, keynotes, workshops and retreats for individuals in the public private sector, for state and national associations, corporate and community foundations, and faith-based and governmental agencies.

During her career, Wendy directed the Volunteer Center of Austin and large healthcare volunteer programs in Austin and San Antonio. During that time, she served on the board of a national professional healthcare association and as president of the Texas chapter. From 2016-2018, Wendy traveled with the Texas CASA executive team. She conducted board leadership training for CASA affiliates throughout Texas.

Wendy served on the national training team for VISTA Americorps for over a decade and on the national training team for Temple University’s boomer volunteer initiative. She provided training and coaching for the Kansas Volunteer Commission and the San Antonio Area Foundation’s skills-based volunteer initiatives.

Wendy is an adjunct faculty member for The Center for Nonprofit Studies at Austin Community College. She and colleague Kathleen McCleskey have taught a four-day Certificate in Volunteer Management course. She regularly provides board leadership classes as well.

Wendy and her husband live in the beautiful Texas hill country outside of Austin.
