About Nancy

Nancy Lee is a former BoardSource Senior Governance Consultant. As a practicing attorney, she brings a unique perspective to her role as a consultant to nonprofit organizations. Nancy has extensive expertise in a broad range of nonprofit governance areas, including:

• board roles and responsibilities
• board composition and development
• organizational structure, culture and capacity building
• board and staff relations
• board assessments
• strategic planning
• governance design and support

Nancy has special training in implicit bias and matters of diversity, inclusion, and equity and has worked with boards and staff on these issues. She has also supported large multinational corporations focused on the nonprofit leadership growth of cohorts of senior executives engaged in charitable activities.

Nancy strives to provide practical advice to clients and has a particular understanding of the board member’s perspective as a result of having served on the boards of more than 20 local, statewide, and national nonprofit organizations. Through her experience and expertise, Nancy is effective in assisting boards of directors and senior management strengthen their leadership and governance, resolve issues, and implement best practices and strategies that will enable their organizations to reach their full potential.
