Assessment Privacy Policy
BoardSource’s policy is to treat all information provided by survey participants, including all survey responses and all personal identifying information, as private and confidential.
All information collected by BoardSource shall be used for purposes of conducting the online assessment, preparation of the summary report, and, if applicable, further analysis requested by the client. In addition, information collected from the online assessment may be contributed to a BoardSource database that is designed to support research about nonprofit board practices; such information shall not contain any individual identifying information.
Individual names, addresses, and e-mail addresses provided to BoardSource will not be shared with any other company, organization, entity, or individual other than (i) its survey partner, Qualtrics, which maintains the same privacy standards, or (ii) to comply with applicable law or valid legal process.
All individual answers provided as part of the online assessment are confidential and cannot be accessed by any board member, officer, or employee of the participant’s organization. While the facilitator for the client organization is given information about who has completed the assessment, they cannot view individual responses unless authorized by that individual board member. The summary report of the assessment will contain only aggregate results; answers to open-ended questions will appear as entered, grouped with comments from other participants but not correlated to or identified with any specific individual(s).
BoardSource has implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by survey participants.
