Governance Consultant Membership Agreement
Governance Consultant Members will:
- Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and respect for your clients in all of your work and inspire the public’s confidence and trust in your activities.
- Embrace and practice ethical principles and consulting standards, including avoiding conflicts of interest in your work with clients, and fairly and accurately representing your professional credentials, qualifications, experience, and ability.
- Seek alignment with BoardSource values of courage, collaboration, curiosity, and inclusiveness.
- Commit to incorporating leading governance practices in your work, including those developed and lifted up by BoardSource.
- Seek to understand and incorporate Purpose-Driven Board Leadership, including how the framework is aligned with and supports the Ten Basic Roles and Responsibilities of Boards and Governance as Leadership.
- Be receptive to opportunities and resources provided by BoardSource to expand your learning about racial equity to assist nonprofit boards in incorporating a racial equity lens in their governance practices.
- Be responsive to BoardSource-initiated requests and opportunities to share your insights and learnings and co-develop resources with BoardSource that further advance good governance practices.
- Be knowledgeable about and adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding nonprofits and any and all advice, consulting, and coaching services provided to nonprofits.
- Honor copyright and intellectual property laws when creating and sharing BoardSource materials.
