Gene Takagi

Gene Takagi is a Principal with NEO Law Group and Contributing Editor of the Nonprofit Law Blog. Gene has represented over 800 nonprofits, developed and taught an advanced nonprofit law course at Columbia University, and was recognized by the American Bar Association Nonprofit Organizations Committee as Outstanding Nonprofit Lawyer in 2016. He is a regular speaker and writer on nonprofit legal issues and has served on the boards or committees of BoardSource, The Nonprofit Quarterly, the Western Conference on Tax Exempt Organizations, the National Center of Philanthropy and the Law, Independent Sector, CompassPoint, Community Initiatives, and Net Impact.
