About Susan


Susan Sacks provides board management support for associations and nonprofit organizations. Consulting services focus on:

  • governance and infrastructure
  • strategic planning
  • volunteer and leadership development
  • the advancement of educational and professional opportunities
  • strategic partnerships

Susan enjoys working with volunteer leaders, helping them identify and apply their skills within their various organizational roles.  A planner by nature, she is especially effective in helping clients gain clarity around their mission, goals, initiatives, and the development of step-by-step processes to help them move their organizations forward.

She currently serves as the executive director of SNA of Mass. while working with a variety of volunteer organizations around social justice and voting rights initiatives. Prior to working with nonprofit organizations, she worked in publishing and corporate community relations. 

Susan is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a Certified Governance Trainer (CGT) for BoardSource.  She has a certificate in Corporate Community Relations from Boston College, as well as her MS in Human Services and a BA in Journalism.  Susan is a member of BoardSource, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the New England Society of Association Executives (NESAE.)
