Dr. Danielle Gilmore leads BoardSource’s learning and research strategy, working across teams to build systems that elevate the voices of nonprofit leaders and communities. She brings a community-centered approach to data and research, ensuring BoardSource’s resources reflect the realities and priorities of those most impacted by systemic inequities. Dr. Gilmore specializes in qualitative research and phenomenology, with deep experience using lived experience as evidence to inform policy and program design. Her work focuses on integrating equity into how data is collected, interpreted, and used to support nonprofit governance. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from George Washington University, a Master of Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.S. in Community and Public Health from the University of Central Oklahoma. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and a dedicated advocate for evaluation that drives systems change.
