Overview

More leaders of color are being appointed to serve at the helm of historically white-led organizations. But many face obstacles: no room for failure; limited access to foundations and donors; and a mandate to focus on racial equity without sufficient resources and support. In this session, hear from leadership coaches about common challenges new leaders of color face and opportunities to change the script. Then listen to a Q&A with an executive director of color and board chair who will share their personal experience. Listeners will come away with four steps their organizations can take and a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities leaders of color face.
Speakers include Idalia Fernandez, Angela Romans, Caryn York, and Keith Stone.
