Purpose-Driven Board Leadership: Conversations for the Boardroom

April 27 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm EDT

By now, many of you have read Anne Wallestad’s article in SSIR “The Four Principles of Purpose-Driven Board Leadership,” where we call for a reset on board leadership and offer a new framework for how boards can govern, focusing not on the organization as the center of a nonprofit’s universe, but instead, the organization’s true purpose or reason for being. If you haven’t, we encourage you to do so now. Since the article’s release, we have heard from so many of you, letting us know how this framework and the issues it brought up have sparked great conversations and honest questions in your boardroom. We love that these conversations are happening, and we want to help!

We plan to discuss each of the Four Principles of Purpose-Driven Board Leadership and how nonprofit boards can begin implementing these principles into their governance practices today. We will then expand the conversation to include you, taking any questions that you might have and discussing our thoughts on some of the conversations you have shared with us that are happening in boardrooms since the article’s release.

We invite you to join BoardSource, President and CEO Anne Wallestad; Jim Taylor, Vice President of Leadership Initiatives; Andy Davis, Associate Vice President of Education and Outreach; and Takita Battle, Director of Corporate & Federated Partnerships for this discussion.

We look forward to seeing you on April 27th at 1:00 pm/10:00 am PT.
