The deadline for submitting applications for the Judith O’Connor Memorial Fund Scholarship has passed. We are in the process of reviewing the applicants, and will inform everyone of our decisions in early 2020.
Promoting excellence in board service is at the heart of BoardSource’s mission. In 2020, we once again look forward to identifying and rewarding 15 to 20 emerging board leaders who are driving change in their nonprofits and communities with the opportunity to attend the BoardSource Leadership Forum at little cost. Scholarship recipients receive free registration and lodging at the conference, as well as a one-year BoardSource membership. Travel costs to and from St. Louis are the responsibility of the scholars.
Created to honor the legacy of Judith O’Connor, the former president & CEO of BoardSource, the scholarships will be awarded to leaders who best meet the following criteria:
- Are a nonprofit board member, nonprofit executive, or staff member with less than three years of experience working with a nonprofit board.
- Have demonstrated leadership and the ability to be a driver of change for their organization and the nonprofit community.
- Will enrich the diversity of the sector. Diversity includes but is not limited to age, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability.
- Would not otherwise be able to attend the BoardSource Leadership Forum and have not attended one previously.
